Community-led Safe Spaces offer peer-led support to people in distress in a welcoming setting in the local community.
This report explores the need for, interest in, and feasibility of establishing Community-led Safe Spaces to provide support for people experiencing emotional or suicidal crisis. Research focused on learning more about the needs and preferences of individuals—particularly those from rural communities—when experiencing distress. The report also includes input from mental health providers, community members, and legal/policy experts.
